Matthew 15:32 In Romans 12 Paul says, "Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you." There are two pictures by Ron DiCianni that stand together in my mind. In one a white-shirted man in a tie sits with his head in his hands. Jesus is kneeling in front of him with a bowl of water and a towel. He will be washing this man's feet. In the other picture the same man stands at the foot of Jesus' crucifixion cross, a big hammer and two spikes in his hands. He will be nailing Jesus' feet to the cross. Jesus doesn't care. He will bless him anyway. The first picture just as easily comes after the second. The waves honor their creator with their constancy. God's love is more vast than the ocean and more consistent than the tide. Jesus, you make everything taste good, even when I am lonely and afraid. You warm my face with your breath and kiss me on every cheek, knowing how much I need you. How can I ever need more? Your goodness is all good, your kindness is without compare. You will keep me even in your own house every day of my life and always.. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you. (Psalm 23) *Yea ... I found the pictures on the internet; here are the links: |
