Acts 3:11-25
"Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel on, as many as have spoken, have foretold these days. And you are heirs of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers."
Peter has died to himself and gained the whole world. He has no money, yet he has something everyone else wants. And he knows that what he has is there for everyone staring at him. Jesus' gift is for everyone. I don't live out this faith every day, but Jesus never leaves me, and his gift is not removed. He waits more patiently than I do. "The fruit of the Spirit is ... patience. Against this there is no law" (Galatians 5). And in Jesus' quiet presence, his patience I bloom like a daffodil in the sun. From the lips of children and infants you have ordained praise, Lord. You have crowned us with glory and honor. How majestic is your name in all the earth. |
