Uh-oh, don't let the rain come downMonday, December 10, 2012
Luke 5:17-19 So ... they cut in a hole in the stranger's roof. They got up there, removed some tiles, and, well, that wasn't big enough, so they took out a few more. Perhaps the owner was busy fixing food and didn't hear them cutting open his roof. The roof police were busy down the street. How Jesus must have laughed when he saw the man appear from above. And with his great sense of timing, Jesus made the whole thing just ... work. One thing Rob Evans the Donut Man decided in his own rendition of this story (which is absolutely wonderful, by the way, and here it is - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DLwKBHJgOfQ): the guy forgiven for his sins who ended up walking was only too happy to help the owner fix his roof after all the talking was done. "There's a hole in my roof. It's the truth, I wouldn't spoof. It was chopped there for a man with diseases, and they lowered him down to Jesus." Put your hands together, here is the one and only, the teacher, the healer, the man who loves us all with the unalloyed love of God, let's hear it for Jesus! We love you! |
